MEDICAL DIRECTOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Dr Tremellen completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001,topping the MRANZCOG examination in Australia and NZ. Following his specialty training, he commenced sub-specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). After three years of sub-specialty training in all surgical and medical aspects of infertility treatment he became a Clinical Director at Repromed. In addition Dr Tremellen’s qualifications extend to a PhD as well as being an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the University of South Australia. His clinical interests include male infertility and recurrent miscarriage.
Dr Tremellen is the inventor of two recent innovations in the field of reproductive medicine; the “Egg Timer” and the male fertility pill “Menevit”. The Egg Timer is a combination of a blood test and pelvic ultrasound which help determine how many good quality eggs remain within a woman’s ovaries. This test has now become a routine investigation for all women attending Repromed fertility clinics and is also becoming an increasingly popular aid to help women plan when to have a baby.
Menevit is a male fertility pill invented by Dr Tremellen and developed in collaboration with Bayer Australia. It has been shown in research studies conducted at Repromed (Menevit trial and the ADAM study) to reduce sperm DNA damage and boost IVF pregnancy rates.
